F16, 1/200 sec, ISO 400, panoramic
I traveled to Yellowstone in August to photograph the park and the bison rut. I wanted an image that conveyed the bison in their environment. I selected Lamar Valley because that is where one of the largest remaining bison herds are located. This vast landscape and the large bison herd go hand in hand. In order to capture the sheer number of bison in this particular part of the valley, I had to shoot the image as a panoramic. I wanted bison to fill the frame as far as the eye can see across the distant valley.
