I spent a week traveling the Oregon Coast, photographing the coastline. One of my photography objectives was Thor’s Well. I checked the tide tables to make sure I got there in plenty of time. High tides and large waves are required to have water pour into the well for maximum effect. After locating the well, which took a while, I set up my tripod in a safe place, and waited for the action to take place. Large swells created the most dramatic images.
