I arrived at Mesa Arch well before sunrise, knowing that this is a popular sunrise location for photographers. However, there was already a line of photographers directly in front of the arch waiting to capture the sunrise through the arch. So I decided to try a spot to the left of the arch so that I could photograph the sunrise in the canyons beyond the arch. But as the sun neared the horizon, I realized that almost all the photographers were not positioned to capture the sunrise through the arch. One other photographer and I stationed ourselves at the far right end of the arch, where we were able to capture the sunrise through the arch. I used a 14 mm lens, and f22 to create a starburst effect.
