I was waiting at the edge of this lake for sunset in the hopes that it would provide colors and an exciting photo opportunity. I waited. And waited. The sky was clear so there wasn't really anything interesting to add to the view of the lake. So, I started looking at mini-landscapes closer to me. When I shot this, it was obvious that it would only work in B&W. There was little color at all - it was very monochromatic from the start. I liked the way the rocks were dark and led into the brighter glow on the water. I exposed for a couple of seconds which allowed the water to blur and partially obscure the rocks below the water.
