I love the quiet and solitude I often find when out photographing sunrise. My family had planned a sunrise hike to Delicate Arch, a beautiful but notoriously busy location, in the middle of summer so I was expecting a crowd. I gave myself the challenge of finding a vantage point that would still let me enjoy some degree of solitude, while enjoying the sunrise, and would still be in keeping with the Leave No Trace and Nature First principles. After some research, I found a location that worked wonderfully: I came away with a unique image from this beautiful sunrise, I was able to reach this spot without straying off the slickrock, and even though I could see the dozens of other people who had ventured out to see the arch, I was alone on my perch and able to enjoy some time to myself soaking in this magical place.
