Celery Bog is off Lindberg Rd. near the Purdue University golf courses in West Lafayette, IN
I am determined with this assignment to highlight all levels of public lands, from the grand National Parks to county parks, to municipal parks. This is an example of the latter, as Celery Bog is run by the West Lafayette Parks and Recreation. I daresay that these parks often provide that daily dose of nature's inspiration that we all need and carried a lot of societal weight during Covid-19 lockdowns. Here's to all of those counties and municipalities that scratch and claw for operational dollars and kept us sane last year.
Three white-tailed deer are alerted to my presence as they graze a small island in the Celery Bog Nature Preserve in West Lafayette, IN., July, 2021. I had to settle for the tree trunk as my left border as I feared that even if I moved three inches to my right, they would flee.
