I had visited this secluded cove off the shores of Mooselookmeguntic Lake in the mountains of Maine many times this summer and fall, capturing different moods and lighting. Well before sunrise, I captured the mysterious mood that occurs before all of the details in the landscape are apparent. Some of the more colorful skies appear at this time. The silhouetted forms separated by the colorful areas of water let the mind imagine what can not be fully seen and form a picture not yet captured. This view ended up being more evocative than any of the later images as sunrise came into full swing.
