Description

The local guides named this Black Rhinoceros "Mama Julie" after a worker at one of the safari camps in the Serengeti National Park where she was a frequent visitor. It's amazing how much ground a rhinoceros can cover at their steady ambling pace. Their sheer size is staggering. It's a privilege to be able to photograph such a magnificent animal. I took the image with a Canon 7D Mark II with an EF 100-400 mm f/4,5-5.6 L IS II USM lens. The exposure settings were 1/250 sec, f/8.0, ISO 1600, 400 mm.
