Description

This photo was taken on Bonaventure Island off the coast of Quebec's Gaspé peninsula. After being ferried to the island from Percé, visitors can walk across the island to see the Northern Gannet colony which numbers over 100,000 birds. It is amazing that the birds can find the small patch of ground where they've nested. They are territorial so the close quarters can cause periodic bursts of aggression.
