The number one place in the world to see schooling hammerheads is Cocos Island, Costa Rica. To get there requires a 30-hour open ocean boat ride. It is high-adrenaline diving, with strong currents and deep dive sights. I have been there twice using rebreathers which recirculates the air, and generates almost no bubbles, allowing you to get up close and personal with the sharks. This is one of my most memorable images, since it captures the life force of Cocos Islands.
