The Merced River runs through Yosemite Valley, in Yosemite National Park.
We found this tree in silhouette in 2017. For most of the day the foreground is in too much sun, and without the spotlight effect on the trees in the background, the composition is not as strong. Fortunately the shadows are predictable via the sun position, so we can return every year to enjoy subtle variations in the results.
A "spooky" tree along the Merced River close to Halloween. It might not be able to hang onto that bank more than another spring or two.
