Brief Directions

Venture 13 miles up Bode Road from highway 395, if you dare. The infamous last 3 miles are unpaved, and feature a slippery gravel road surface tilted toward a precipice that threatens to send your vehicle careening down the sagebrush-covered slopes below.

Bodie is closed to visitors at night, but we're able to get permission a few times each year to take a handful of brave photographers up there at night, then the wind

Description

There are over 100 buildings left in the Wild West "ghost town" of Bodie, California. The Lottie Johl House is named after one of the town's most famous prostitutes, who married a prominent businessman and moved into this house on Main Street.
