Like most all of my wildlife photos, it is pure luck to cross paths with wildlife. This morning I was photographing the fall colors down by the old apple ranch. It had rained the previous night so all the grasses and plants muffled my foot steps. About 100 yards in and I notice movement to my left and see this mule deer and its fawn standing still as a statue. I slowly raised my camera and snapped off a few exposures. As I was slowly and quietly backing away I noticed a 6 point buck watching me. I wanted to take a photo of him but the big buck didn't look like he was in the mood for a photo. After the buck starring me down, I hurriedly walked back to my vehicle.
