This was an HDR shot to capture the various shades of the reflected light on the canyon walls.
One of the items on my bucket list was hiking and photographing Buckskin Gulch. It is one of the longest slot canyons in the United States. The hiking challenges included long water-filled passages and rock rubble. The principal photography challenge was having enough reflected light in the deep narrow passages with sheer walls. The autumn light is less intense revealing more purples and blues rather than the bright oranges and reds of the summer light, conveying the mood of a deep dark narrow canyon.
