Caving is quite an adventure, and having a camera around my neck made this even truer. About an hour into the trip, we entered this room of small soda straws and other speleothems. Its short ceiling required us to crawl while we did our best to avoid breaking the fragile formations above us. With the group ahead of me, I setup my tripod on the muddy floor and retrieved my camera from my drybag. The group’s headlights facing me with our leader’s light pointed their direction made for great lighting to emphasize the hundreds of soda straws hanging from the ceiling.
