The Circle of Life

Bobby Socks trees in Yellowstone are so named for their bleached trunks. Following a flood, the trees were plugged with silica which caused the moisture to evaporate, killing the tree. I loved this composition including the grouping of the tree remains along with the living trees in the distance. Photographed in winter on a bitterly cold day took a lot of motivation and commitment to this craft.
