Lubberland Creek Frosting

This estuary creek is part of The Nature Conservancy protected lands down the road from me. A recent snow created some intriguing snow and ice structures in the tidal zone, which I decided to emphasize with a wide angle 16mm lens and moving as close and low as I could to showcase them against the sunrise. Often a colorful sunrise takes center stage, but I think the reflective qualities of the snow and prominence in the frame was the ideal balance for the image. One of my favorite of the winter.
