Peeking Through The Keyhole

This was an HDR shot to capture the various color shades of reflected light on the canyon walls and the blue sky.

My wife and I spent a month exploring and photographing the slot canyons along the Arizona-Utah border. The key is catching the sun in the correct position to capture the reflected light to make the canyon glow like fire. The challenge for this particular image was lying on your back, looking straight up through the camera’s viewfinder. This was my favorite slot canyon image.
