My wife has been my outdoor model over the last two decades. I have photographed her rock climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, canyoneering, etc. She comes across as a rugged outdoors-woman. I wanted to photograph her to highlight her grace and beauty as well as her dance and gymnastic background. I envisioned her dancing across a backdrop of desert spires. When I saw this view of Cathedral Valley, I knew it was time to break out my wife’s red dancing dress, that we carry with us on all of our trips just for occasions like this. I set up my camera on my tripod, and asked my wife to dance across the scene. This compilation of images captures my wife’s playful spirit and enthusiasm.
