Pusch Ridge Wilderness Area
Both Finger Rock and Pontatoc Canyons are in the Pusch Ridge Wilderness Area which forms much of the northern boundary of Tucson, Arizona in the Sonoran Desert.
Rugged country but out there are Coues whitetail deer, mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, javelinas (peccaries), coyotes, gray foxes, bobcats, mountain lions, several different squirrels and many different birds. Except for the cats, have seen all of those from this spot at various times.
18mm w/a Canon 10-22mm Lens. Looking west across a small portion of the Pusch Ridge Wilderness Area. Taken off trail in Pontatoc Canyon at about 3300' on the west ridge of the canyon.
