The Real Thing

I took this picture from the Canyon Overlook Trail on a bright and sunny, but cold morning. We were simply in awe of the slopes this animal and a few others navigated at the highest points in Zion.

Here is a Bighorn Sheep high up on the peaks in Zion National Park, April 21, 2023. The Americana version of this animal is so far from reality, healthy, muscled, and casting its gaze from the summits. In reality, this one shows the effects of a long winter. In thinking about Earth Day, isn't reality what we strive for?
