The setting sun ducks in and out of clouds as it sinks into Flathead Lake, Montana, the golden glow reflecting off the waters of the lake below and the clouds above.
This photo predates Photoshop, and is an in-the-camera multiple exposure. Took three vacations from the East Coast to Flathead Lake Montana (well worth many trips!) and multiple trials. I could take but one exposure per evening, and the next morning would ride a bicycle into town to drop off the film. That afternoon would again ride into town, evaluate my image, and try again that night! If there were too many clouds, no go. Not enough clouds? Same result. The shutter was released every 5 minutes (if I recall correctly), and the shutter speed needed to be altered as the sun set. After many trials, and much bike riding, I finally captured the submitted image.
