Drive west from Tucson over Gates pass and take Kinney round approx 1 1/2 miles to the guide post 23 parking area.
I had tried a month earlier to photograph a full moon thru a few Saguaros, however with a Tamron 600mm lens they were too close. I placed myself at the bottom of a mountain with the Saguaros about 400-500 feet above me and in the exact location for the moon to come up at 72.5 degrees. This is my most favorite photograph I have ever taken. All my calculations proved to be a winner for me. I did not straighten the Saguaros as this was their normal position from my location.
The largest full moon until the year 2034. Taken from the bottom of a mountain so it would include Saguaros in the foreground
