Wind, water, snow....some of my favorite elements to capture. They absolutely change a landscape. This was the first time I was able to witness all three in conjunction, and what a scene it was. I want all my images to make the viewer feel like they're there in-person, experiencing the same emotions I did when I took the shot. That's what I love about photography, for me it's not documentary...I take and process my images with the intent of evoking an emotional response where the person viewing can 'feel' the scene. At the moment I pressed the shutter to take this shot, I was experiencing nature at its finest. 50mph winds, freezing temps, rolling waves on Two Medicine Lake, soft flurries in the air with Sinopah Mountain dusted in snow, first light hitting Sinopah, and this amazing display of light all over the landscape. I said it before in a previous shot from this morning, but god I felt so alive...the weather was so chaotic, but I felt so calm and so at one with the place. I've never experienced anything like it.
