The eclipse lasted less than a minute and a half, so you have to work fast. I set my aperture to 2.8 and shot a series of exposures that varied from 1/1000 sec to 10 seconds. I combined the eclipse shots with the best longer exposure that brought out the details of the moon. It was basically an HDR image of the eclipse.
We drove to Cascade Idaho, and were lucky enough to have clear blue skies.
