I rose well before dawn at my campsite at Wawona campground and drove through the darkness to Tunnel View. As a small group of fellow photographers and I watched and waited, the rising sun set the overcast ablaze with deep purples and other colors. Just before the sun reached the horizon, it cast a pillar of light at the far end of Yosemite Valley. An amazing sunrise at an iconic viewpoint. I exposed for the clouds and light pillar, under exposing the valley. In processing I compensated for the under exposed valley.
