I shot this images in 2005 with a Fuji S5000 camera. The camera had a split-second delay from the time you pressed the shutter button and the time the pictures was actually taken. I had observed this red dragonfly flying around the pond. I noticed that it kept returning to a certain area and hovered for a while before flying around again. So I pre-focused on the spot and waited for it to come back. When it did I clicked the shutter button. Just the a large-mouth bass jumped from the water and ate the dragonfly. I was thrilled when I reviewed the shot and realized that I had captured that very moment.
