This image of a snowmobiler was shot early in the afternoon in December as the sun and temperatures went down along the Kenai Peninsula. I wanted to give this winter wonderland some perspective and depth, by using the light on the snowmobile and the tracks in the snow. I also wanted to capture the amazing pastel skies. Being from Kentucky, I was not used to the frigid temperatures of Alaska or the pastel skies I there. On this day, I was out shooting with an Alaska photographer, Carol Lahnum, The actual temperature was near zero and I can't even begin to guess the wind chill. It was cold!
