This was taken right outside of Pria Canyon in Utah. I hiked through the canyon with my dad a week or two ago. When I took this picture, I thought that its main characteristic was the stark contrast between the green plant and the red soil. When I got home, however, the color emphasis did not seem that amazing. I figured I might as well see it in black and white. In doing so, I discovered a scene of dramatic tonal values that I was previously unaware of.
