Sunwapta Falls is located about 40 miles south of Jasper, along the Icefields Parkway (highway 93N) in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada.
Sunwapta Falls is my favourite waterfall to photograph. The Sunwapta River splits in half and flows around a small island in the river, then rejoins and plunges over the waterfall. I visited this spot in late September when the water level was fairly low. This allowed for the cascading water and the gorgeous textures and patterns in the rocks to be visible.
