The canyon can be found in the southwest corner of Colorado Springs.

The road through North Cheyenne Canyon courses along North Cheyenne Creek and between steep walls of rock. It rises coming to an opening where Helen Hunt Falls is located. During the spring and summer runoff the creek can be quite full depending on the snow pack depth in the mountains. The flow was moderate in the spring of 2012 and I was able to capture this image downstream from the falls. At an exposure of 1 second the feathered effect of the water cascading over some of the red rocks in the stream emphasized its motion. I have photographed this area at various times of the year and it never fails to yield worthy images.
