Although being past the cream of the bird sanctuary season's photographing time, I was hopeful that there were still nesting birds. Though the majority of the young had grown and moved on, to my delight there were still plenty of duckbills, herons and egrets. This image was the result of the egret's need to hunt, late afternoon sun angle, and sheer determination; to get there. We had to traverse thick undergrowth, overgrowth ( apparently the trails were groomed for a bit earlier in the year), and swat, swipe and/or attempt removal of innumerable thick webs of the indigenous Wolf spider. Hmmmm, let's see; yep, it was fun.
