The Little Bird Who Could

Near the Louisville Zoo.

Trees and branches are covered in ice from a February winter storm that included freezing rain. I shot this image of a cardinal taking flight away from the ice at the Louisville Nature Center where they have a great bird blind to view and photograph birds and other wildlife. The Louisville Nature Center also manages the Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve in Kentucky.
