North Cheyenne Creek runs through North Cheyenne Canyon, a sheer walled area that gets little sun during the winter days thus maintaining its snowpack for long periods of time. It is a beautiful place that presents many photographic opportunities. To capture this image I set up my tripod and camera on a steep little slope that was covered with snow. The tripod was more stable than was I as I almost slid into the frigid creek. Fortunately, I was spared that embarrassment. The sun was streaking through the canyon walls enough to create some shadows and contrast as well as highlight the water and some ice. The trees provided some framing, texture and color to the scene.
