In West Sedona, take Upper Red Rock Crossing Loop Road, toward Cathedral Rock. There is a pullout about half a mile down on the left. Walk east until you find this tree.
While scouting for different ways to photograph Sedona's famous Red-Rock Country during sunset, I found this view. When I returned the following day, I noticed that the waxing gibbous moon was rising straight up the middle of the scene I had planned to photograph. I waited until the moon was framed within some branches, and began shooting. Realizing the scene I wanted to photograph was much too wide to include all the elements I envisioned for this capture, in one standard image, I shot five horizontal images which I later stitched using Kolor Autopano Pro software.
