Weekly photo assignments from the editors of Outdoor Photographer Magazine
OP’s offices are located in Southern California so we’re never far from some of the most spectacular desert scenery in the world here. When I first came to Southern California I didn’t have any appreciation for how varied the landscape can be in different desert environments. After exploring the high deserts of Joshua Tree, the dunes of Death Valley and the wildflowers of Anza-Borrego, I developed a special appreciation for an environment that gets a bad rap as a barren wasteland. Show us some of your desert scenes in this week’s assignment.
