Patterson's creek is nestled in the heart of Old Ottawa East. It ties the Rideau canal to the Glebe, and also makes an interesting candidate for HDR photography. The rideau canal built in 1832 as a secure route to keep communications open between Montreal and Kingston, was re-purposed to permit commercial shipments. The creek, named after the former land owner George Patterson, is cleared in the winter for use as a skating rink.
