In one section of Ute Valley Park there are several Ponderosa Pine trees that cling to life on white limestone rock formations. I was interested in the large roots of this pine as well as the texture of the rocks to which it was attached. Using my smart phone camera I was able to capture both. The day was completely overcast so the dark trees contrasted nicely with the light grey-white sky. Taken in color I converted it to black and white in Lightroom 5 and used Photoshop CS5 for some final sharpening.
