Pike National Forest has a great mix of pine trees and aspens. In the fall the gold, yellow and salmon colored aspens offer a great contrast to the evergreen pines. I spotted this young aspen being drenched by a sliver of sunlight which was passing through the tall pine trees behind it and captured this image in color. Edited in Lightroom 5 I then converted it to black and white and did some final sharpening in Photoshop CS5.
