Sentinels of Dawn

Trees shrouded in fog stood guard against the first rays of sun approaching over this small ridge. I had noticed fog banks near the Teklanika River in Denali National Park the previous morning as I took the first park shuttle bus out of the Teklanika campground where I was camped. This morning I was able to drive at my own pace along the park road as I departed the campground. I started out before dawn, hoping to catch the magic of first light among nearby patches of trees and fog.
