One can drive down from Nairobi which is the closest international airport or take a small bush plane into the Mara. There are Air strips convenient to most camps in the savannah.

Ensure that you are in a 4 X 4 cruiser and not a minivan. For serious photographers, try and obtain an off--road permit. Ensure that you vehicle has "bean bags" or carry your own. You will need a variety of lenses. Wide angle, Mid zoom and Long lenses. Min requirement is a 300mm to enjoy photography here. Go to the Mara not only for wild life, but also some wonderful landscapes and people photography.

Our Summer and Spring for Kenya which is August is the best time to visit. This is when millions of Wilder beast, Zebras and antelopes migrate along the Savannah in search of greener pastures. This image was shot near the river talek when one of the herds decided to head towards and cross the Crocodile infested Mara river.
