Well, it's my home in Centerville, Ohio.
The DOF with the Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens is very, very small, so it's critical to use as small aperture as possible when attempting to capture details that are less than inch apart within the frame. This can be very challenging with outdoor subjects such as flowers. The slightest movement can dramatically alter the point of focus and clarity of the image. Since there's almost always some breeze or wind present in this location, it was necessary to bump-up the ISO a bit to allow for both a faster shutter speed while still using a relatively small aperture.
This image was captured just a few feet out my back door, on my porch where I grow sunflowers throughout the summer. There was late afternoon light reflecting off the back of the house, thus providing some soft "fill light" back on the sunflower.
