Racehorse Falls
Take the Mt. Baker Highway (WA 542) east of Bellingham 17 miles and turn right on Mosquito Lake Road. After crossing the bridge over the Nooksack River in one miles, turn left on North Fork Road and continue five miles to the trail head. Hike less than a mile on even ground through verdant forest, then carefully descend a quarter mile down the bare, steep, slippery trail to this awesome viewpoint.

This is Racehorse Falls, hidden in a hard-to-reach chasm in the foothills of the North Cascades Mountain Range about 20 miles east of Bellingham, Washington. The capture was made well before sunrise to take advantage of the even light. The steep "trail" descending into the gulch is difficult to negotiate and I took great care to obtain this point of view.
