Having found photography just last year, I've been waiting all Winter to get back out and advance my portfolio this Spring. I took advantage of $19 off-season hotel rates in Pigeon Forge, TN to visit the nearby Smoky Mountains in early April of this year. On my final day, an early morning thunderstorm left a wet, lush landscape and gave the 11-mile Roaring Fork loop just east of Gatlinburg a forest-like look. To date this is my favorite photo because I feel it catches the essence of the Smokies in the spring. It is an HDR (three-shot) photo produced in Photomatrix.
