Fire In the Aspens

Antonito, Colorado is approximately 250 southeast of Denver, Colorado on Highway 285 all the way. Once in Antonito, board the Cumbres & Toltec Narrow Gauge Railroad during the fall season. Call ahead for train tickets.

While riding the Cumbres & Toltec narrow gauge railroad, I tried photographing aspens in the traditional manner without much luck. I embraced the blur by first experimenting with different panning directions and camera settings. I eventually settled on a technique that I was happy with and captured some images before the train ride ended.
