Go north 3 miles out of Silverton and park next to the side of the road by the Mineral Creek. You will see the trail where the horses head up the hill.
Take your shoes off when you cross the river and have a plastic bag available to hold your gear when you cross. You can't cross here in the spring. You will see poles on each side of the stream where a rope is sometimes put up as a stream crossing help.
Fall can be very chilly in Silverton, and this hike requires a stream crossing.
