Description

Considering I began my adventures in America in New York City and lived there for many years, I found it a bit odd to be able to see and touch snow in mid-July. But there’s nothing odd about the Purple Plains beneath Mount Rainier that flourish among the greens of summer. These sub-alpine wildflower meadows surround what is actually an icy volcano, although it’s been more than a century since the last eruption. I took this shot using Sony 7R.
