In May, 2014 I attended a photo workshop hosted by Gary Hart and Don Smith to photograph the moonbow at Yosemite Falls. I spent an extra night after the workshop ended and decided to experiment with star trails. The full moon was lighting up the face of El Capitan. I wasn't sure if the moonlight would wash out the stars, but decided to give it a try. I made a series of 20 second exposures which were then merged as layers in Photoshop with this being the result.
