Pretty early in the spring I headed up to the top of trail Ridge Rd in Rky Mt National Park. I know a place that I wanted to go to from last year as it is quite and there are lots of pika and yellow bellied marmots. I call these spots rock pits as I don't know how they are formed but they look like sink holes that are filled with lichen covered boulders. These places are where the Pika live. The only critter to work through the winter high up in the alpine. I set up my 600 low to the ground and waited. These guys are areal tease, in and out, up and down. Bing, bing, bing like richoche rabbit. Finally got this one though and I really like the colors of the lichen on the rocks.
