The hike out to Hidden Lake was cold with wind blown snow in our faces most of the way. We did not know if the weather would clear enough to allow us to get good views. As we began the descent to the lake, the snow stopped falling and the sky lightened. Standing in the bowl at the shore of the lake, I was humbled by the grandeur of the surrounding rock formations. There was a breeze on the lake which eliminated the possibility of a good reflection. Given these conditions, I decided to use a telephoto to emphasize the sheer rock walls, the waterfalls, and the vibrant foliage on the lake bank.
